Basin Home Health & Hospice

Who We Are

Our volunteer program is an essential part of the Basin interdisciplinary hospice team. Hospice volunteers extend compassionate, nurturing support to patients and caregivers during one of life’s most tender seasons. Many of the services volunteers provide are not covered by insurance or Medicare, including the caregiving support that families often need most. Because families provide the majority of hands-on care for their loved ones, caregivers may have little time to rest, tend to their own needs, or simply breathe. Hospice volunteers help ease that burden by offering dependable respite, comfort, and heartfelt presence to the families we serve.

What We Do

Basin hospice volunteers provide meaningful support, companionship, and respite for hospice families in San Juan County. There are many ways to volunteer and make a difference. If you are handy, families may benefit from your skills in making their homes more accessible, comfortable, or safe. If you enjoy caregiving, reading, playing card games, or simply spending time watching favorite shows like The Rifleman or Wheel of Fortune, this could be a wonderful place for you to share your time and compassion.
